Around 4a.m. I heard banging on our front door...only to open it to our dear neighbor up the hall. He was concerned about our kids (Audrey loves him...surprising because she is afraid of men!)...our hallway was filling with smoke and there were firemen running around...and about 10 trucks (way more then when we had the fire in our apartment building back in Septmeber....poor Megan and Matthew were nervous....although, Evan had his full fire gear on ready to help)....I really appreciate our neighbor for alerting us to the situation...he is a HERO to me.Thanks to the Chicago Fire Department we did not have to evacuate our building....they really do a remarkable job....they are always busy around here...We are feeling very grateful this morning for our safety!

So was there a fire in the building somewhere, or was it a false alarm? I am glad you guys are safe! Fires are terrifying (we know :)) but firemen are incredible at the job they do!
That is hilarious that Evan gets all geared up. I can just picture it. We tried to do a fire drill for FHE and instead of running outside like he was supposed to, Mattie tried to put out the 'fire' using his super hero powers. It was pretty funny. He really thought he could put out the fire.
I can picture now Evan all dressed up ready to help. I love it.
That's crazy! I'm glad Evan is always ready to put the fire out!
Oh horrible! I bet you couldn't even go back to sleep. Evan is so funny.
